Wow,
I have actually made it to 300!
When I started this blog I wasn’t expecting to keep it for more than a
few months before it petered out.
I thought that maybe I’d do a few posts
from the last 300 to document my journey.
I’m going through the history of the bog and trying to find the ones
that really ‘BINGBINGBING’ in my head.
Here goes:
Telling Mrs Stace, and the after effects:
Giving my dad a 60th birthday
present he wasn’t expecting:
Barbie gets techie! This is what Mrs Stace
got me for Chirstmas this year:
My mum worrying that I am going to over the
top:
Stepping out for the first time, wow, was I
scared!:
Meeting my parents for the first time:
Starting the process at the gender clinic:
Shopping (grocery) for the first time with
Mrs Stace:
Meeting my sister in law for the first time
(and learning to beware the wind!):
And of course, the transition itself:
And let’s finish on showing the online
world me for the first time:
I can’t believe the change in me over the
last 300 posts. From a stressed out mess
to who I a now.
I just hope that in 300 more posts life is
just that, life!
So thats where my life went, reading all your posts!
ReplyDeleteLike so many before you have gone from hesitant steps to wowing the world and have had the heart and courage to let the world watch and learn.
at my present rate it may take until next new year to reach 300, well done!
Thank you!
DeleteI started to just give me space for my head, and once I got past that I remembered the amount of help it was to read others experiences and thought if I can help anyone else then why not continue.
Good luck with your 300!
Stace
Congratulations, Stace!
ReplyDeleteI'm still reading through all of your posts (I'm up to March of 2011), but I can't tell you how awed I was at your courage and determination. It's been an inspiration. When I made my plans for the year, I told myself: "If Stace could do it, then so can I." So, thank you for that.
Can't wait to finish all 300 posts! Maybe I'll take a week off... lol
Congratulations again!
Cass
P.S. Really enjoying Muse! Between them and the Radiohead Bonnaroo soundboard recording, my listening plate is quite full at the moment...
Thanks Cass!
DeleteI'll be honest and say the most courage was when I first left the house. That is the one time when I think that bravery did come into it :)
It would have been oh so easy to have taken my therapist up on his offer to change at his practice. A nightmare to do my hair and make-up admittedly, but oh so easy... Getting there, and back on that first day was just terrifying. But... I'm also oh so glad that I didn't reinforce my shame by giving into it.
Stace
PS Glad you're liking it. I still need to try and get the radio head into the car. It'll happen at some point, I just need to either clear space on my USB stick or buy a bigger stick :)
Buy a bigger stick; it is TOTALLY worth it. :c) The performance is amazing - as good as Glastonbury '97 - and the sound is astonishing. You can even hear Thom Yorke breathing during the quiet moments!
DeleteI'm working up the courage to go to my therapist's office as myself. I finally realized I need help with makeup, so tonight after work I stopped at a MAC store (do they have those over there?) and made an appointment for Friday evening. The artist I spoke with (that's what they call themselves, quite rightly) was wonderful, and very encouraging. She even insisted I let her work with me. :c) Details to follow. lol
Congratulations again, Stace!

P.S. Just got the latest from Sigur Ros; I'm a big fan, and this is getting excellent reviews. Looking forward to breaking out the noise-cancelling headphones!
Congratulations on reaching the milestone.
ReplyDeleteBTW, 300? Is it too early to yell THIS IS SPARTA! :-)
:) I was wondering whether or not to make that comment...
DeleteStace
Me I'm closer to 500 posts & have had a much slower time of it all.
ReplyDeleteWell done though, you made it.
I think I am a distance away from 500 yet!
DeleteSlower time maybe, but your still the better word-smith!
Stace
Lynn took my comment! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Here's to the next 300!
(I'm at... ahem, is that the time already? My goodness...)
Great minds and all of that :)

The real life milestones are far more impressive.
ReplyDeleteIts great that things are working out for you
The real life milestones have been amazing. I enjoyed the quick review that I had of my previous posts, and seeing the different places I had in my head over that time. That is a long journey to make in only 3 1/2 years.
DeleteStace
Yeah! Those too! :-)
Delete(Oops. Sorry!)
Well done on reaching 300 posts.
ReplyDeleteGlad everything is going well.
Thanks Jenna. Hopefully the next 300 say good things too!
