Well, as recovered as I may be, I'm still exhausted! And so here is a cheat post :)
Seeing as I am in no condition to run we went for a walk in the snow today, and I took my little camera that I got last year.
It was a really pleasant walk, and with the exception of the bits where the wind was blowing ice crystals into our face making them feel like millions of tiny needles, it was not *too* cold. We got back and had hot chocolate (Mrs Stace) and a glass of hot mulled wine (me) to get the last of the chill out of us. Now were locked away from the weather, just wondering how bad the drive to work is going to be in the morning!
And me being a little cold :)
I'm sure that I read somewhere that really cute pictures were not allowed!
ReplyDeleteSeeing your snaps I have regraded our conditions to just miserable, ten minutes was my limit...
That would be unfortunate... The ones that even I think are OK are the only ones I am posting ;p
DeleteThe conditions on Sunday were not fun, the snow was like thousands of tiny needles, and the wind buried it in our faces. Since then the snow got deeper, and it got colder! Driving home this evening it was *only* -2 (about -10 with wind chill...)
But after the flu it was still nice just to get out of the house! :)

Nice pictures. I love that camera.
ReplyDeleteAs Caroline said - you look lovely. One day we will see you without a hatin your kitchen :-)
Thanks, I love the camera too! So far I have got some lovely shots, and some less so as I play with the manual settings and try and use the hinge of the flash to mimic bouncing the flash off of walls or the ceiling (as with my Canon flash) - but I love the possibilities that it gives.
DeleteAnd thanks :) You may get a Christmas kitchen shot, I have not decided yet. It was a bit blurry (but then that is good) and taken whilst I was trying to prepare Christmas dinner for everyone...

PS But no promises!
I have yet to get that sophisticated with the flash. Busily playing on the pc with the ones I took when we were away. I will get to experiment soon though - especially as it's a go anywhere camera and so much lighter than the old one.
ReplyDeleteAs for filtering the photos - I think I like about 1 in 100 of me so I know where you are coming from. You do look totally feminine now by the way
I am expecting a kitchen picture good enough to go on P interest :-)
Basically as the flash is sprint loaded you can point it at an angle to the ceiling. This will then give a more diffused, spread out light on the subject - rather than the harsh in your face flash that you would otherwise get.
DeleteReally easy to do with a professional flash unit that swivels, less so with a compact camera. But you can just about fake it with the Sony if you are caredul :)

PS thanks :)
