MotoGP

OK, after a number of serious posts here's something more fun (for me anyway...)

A few more of my choice shots from the MotoGP in Assen.  Not always perfectly sharp, and I have played with the saturation and brightness in some cases (maybe for the worse...  I was playing and experimenting!).  Without fail they have been clipped though to make (what I think) is the best of the framing.

I hope they bring the excitement of the day across as much as they bring it back to me!

Dovi after the race (unprocessed)

Close up of the above shot to see his eyes

Jorge during the race, with damage from the crash with Simo, very slightly processed
Rossi going past Hayden, rotated but otherwise untouched
Rossi going past Hayden a second or so later, a little processed - but not much

Rossi going past Edwards (IIRC) I don't think I have to say if this one has been processed!

And end with Simo, complete with flapping bits at the back from his accident.  Again, a little processed but not much

  1. You do a terrific job with your photography. Almost as if you are right on top of the action.

Keep up all the great work.

  2. Thanks, I love photography, though don't do as much of it as I should. But the TT mixes that with bikes and then I go nuts with the camera :)

This time we had a great spot and I managed to get some action shots during the race :)

  3. The photography is spectacular but, omg....I could NEVER ride one of those things!

  4. Thanks Calie - it was great to get the pictures onto the computer and see that some of the shots came out so well :)

Thank goodness for digital photography though - I hate to think what it would have cost if I was still using my 35mm SLR instead of the 5D that I use these days :)

As for the bikes... Without wishing to sound like a wimpy biker, I don't think I would like to ride these either! I was thinking such at the track. 10 years ago, or even 5 years ago I think I would have said 'Yes please!' Today, I see them for the vicious machines that they are. Great if you have the talent and guts to ride them, less so if you realise that mid thirties is not the time to be wanting to try something so full on.

I'll stick with the 120bhp R6 - it's not slow (far from it ;p), but is very more civilised that than those machines are!
