I could not expect more than she has given.

Halle: Thanks!

As for the sizes. Could be to get us to buy more (and with more online shopping happenning it could be a conspiracy with the delivery companies - I know I have sent enough back, and had to order it multiple times to get the right size!

Melissa: I hope so. I think that she coped OK (it's what has come across from our discusions since).

I just wish each company would make the same sizes... It's the same in shoes. I wear 39 for most flat styles and trainers, 40 for most with heels and yet my running shoes are a 40.5 just because Asics make there shoes small (according to the shop). Skirt and coat sizes seem to be the same (though both coats are Esprit and yet one is XL and the other Euro 40 - which I can't imagine map to each other).

Ariel: Still married, long may it continue... We are still trying to work that one out - but at least we are still very close; *if* the worst comes I do not think that I will lose her completely...

The washroom was such an anticlimax I was shocked. Absolutely no issue what so ever - either in queue to get in (Mrs Stace wanted to know why I would give up not having to queue ;p), paying the attendent or waiting to wash my hands afterwards. Fantastically anti-climatic ! (assuming that is the right word - felling a little crappy at the moment and my head is not working)

My rib cage is a pain in the neck when looking at dresses (to the point where I have given up on them and stick with skirts and tops now instead!)

StaceStacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07907346657510908857noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4187164070937704663.post-86919615223498444862011-03-14T03:20:45.508+01:002011-03-14T03:20:45.508+01:00Kudos to both you and Mrs. Stace! That's major.

I don't know why the industry doesn't settle on standard sizes, but they definitely do not -- even leaving aside the mismarked ones that Melissa referred to, which do happen. I usually wear a size 10 (US) dress, but the 10 I tried on today would not zip. Damned ribcage! In outerwear, I often go a size bigger -- 12 or extra large -- just because outerwear has to fit over other clothing.

So now you have to model the trenchcoat for us!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4187164070937704663.post-61885692395183707542011-03-13T19:39:46.339+01:002011-03-13T19:39:46.339+01:00How wonderful to hear that Mrs. Stace went out wit...How wonderful to hear that Mrs. Stace went out with you! It sounds like things went pretty well. I hope she can get used to it, and you can go out together more often.

I know what you mean about the irregular sizes. Sometimes I think garments just get tagged with the wrong size by the manufacturer, because they are so far off the mark, but then too, different manufacturers have different models that they use for sizing their garments. In a store you don't know that until you've tried something on in what you thought was your size, only to find it's too big or too small. One thing I like about catalog shopping, is that the catalogs list the measurements for each size, so you usually have a pretty good idea how it is going to fit, but even that is not always fool proof.

Melissa XXMelissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04600684740584460891noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4187164070937704663.post-44882355462516256912011-03-13T14:55:38.717+01:002011-03-13T14:55:38.717+01:00This is such a great post Stace! To read of your success is heartening indeed.

As to universal sizes, there must be a good reason for the lack in that area. Maybe the manufacturers like to get us into the shop trying things on? Maybe they have figured out it increases sales? Just a thought.

Halle
xoxHallehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03847654451426257182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4187164070937704663.post-69793805492125051562011-03-13T10:49:00.204+01:002011-03-13T10:49:00.204+01:00Well done.
